Early Childhood Development: This program plays a big role in Child development. This is Why through PDH project of Caritas Byumba and WVR conducted a training of Head of home -based ECD’s revising and learning different skills regarding the HBECD’s in promoting child’s well-being.

On the 13th, 03,2025, in Burera district, Nemba sector of Buberuka AP, Caritas conducted a training of Head of home -based ECD’s with the purpose of equip knowledge to participants on ECD’s pillars and integration of other sectors with nutrition

Methodology

Through open discussions, group works and presentations, discussed are the following topics:

• ECD pillars: health, nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), parenting education, and child protection & inclusion.
• Nutrition Essentials for Children Under 5 Years
• Health and Well-being Practices in Early Childhood Development

The training closed with Q/A session to explore the challenges and recommendation, so as to ensure the smooth functionality of ECD’s in supporting the proper growth of children under 5 years.
