At AP Kiramuruzi, a vibrant cooking demonstration brought to life the principles of the 12-Day Nutrition Learning Approach, PDH MODEL, implemented by Caritas Byumba in partnership with World Vision Rwanda. Mothers and caregivers came together to learn how to prepare balanced, child-friendly meals using locally available foods such as sweet potatoes, groundnuts, vegetables, and beans. The session formed part of a 12-day learning series designed to fight malnutrition through practical, daily nutrition education. Each day in the 12-day program focuses on key nutrition and hygiene topics. This cooking demonstration reinforced lessons on: Food diversity and proper food combinations, Safe cooking and hygiene practices, Responsive feeding for children under five. By learning through doing, participants build the confidence to apply what they learn at home—turning knowledge into healthy habits. At AP Kiramuruzi, the PDH Sessions Approach is more than a program—it’s a journey toward better health, one plate at a time.
<thumbnail_url>https://nutritiondialogues.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/GsICYB4WoAEv6bD-1024x576.jpg</thumbnail_url></oembed>
