During the Open Day held in Nyagatare District, June 2025, Caritas Byumba and World Vision Rwanda showcased its impactful work in the fight against child malnutrition.

Through interactive displays and testimonies, visitors learned how Caritas and World Vision Rwanda supports families with:

• Nutrition education,

• 12-day cooking demonstrations,

• Growth monitoring,

• and the PD/Hearth model for community-led change.

Mothers who participated in the programs shared how they’ve learned to prepare nutritious meals using local ingredients, improve hygiene, and monitor their children’s health.

“Thanks to Caritas, I now know how to protect my child from malnutrition with simple foods from our garden,” said one participant.

The Open Day served as a platform to celebrate progress, inspire collaboration, and reaffirm that ending malnutrition is possible—when communities are empowered with knowledge and support.

Caritas Byumba and World Vision Rwanda continue to be a strong force for change, nourishing families and building healthier futures across Rwanda.
