A community dialogue was conducted in Magu District, Mwanza Region involving children, youth, and parents of children living with diabetes. The activity aimed to conduct a community needs assessment and evaluate the community’s understanding of nutrition and diabetes management. Participants shared their experiences, challenges, and knowledge regarding healthy eating practices and the nutritional needs of children living with diabetes.

The dialogue also served as an opportunity to raise awareness on the importance of proper nutrition in improving health outcomes and quality of life. As part of the intervention, vegetable seeds and fruit tree seedlings were distributed to participating families to encourage home gardening and improve access to nutritious foods. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable dietary practices and strengthen community capacity to support children living with diabetes through improved nutrition.
