Description
This dialogue will bring together Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP) volunteers to explore community beliefs, cultural practices, and misconceptions that influence infant and young child feeding and nutrition. Drawing on their experiences working with caregivers and families, participants will discuss how these beliefs affect child growth, health-seeking behaviours, and the uptake of nutrition services. The dialogue will identify common barriers, share successful community engagement approaches, and generate practical recommendations for addressing harmful misconceptions through behaviour change communication, community mobilization, and strengthened nutrition counselling. The perspectives gathered will contribute to improving community-based nutrition programming and informing local nutrition planning and advocacy.
