Les enfants de Nyamukubi et Bushushu présents au dialogue nutritionnel ont proposé comme mesure de mitigation et actions urgentes les points suivants : le retour de leurs familles dans les villages, les aides humanitaires alimentaires, organiser la cantine scolaire dans les écoles , donner des terres à cultiver aux parents pour trouver quoi nourrir leurs enfants ,...

The possible solutions suggested by the children in addressing the challenges included a proposal to have parents have to oriented on post harvest handling and storage of produce to avoid selling all the produces. Poor storage of produce result in crop damages hence parents opt to sell. Schools to have orchards to help children access fruits while at school, school feeding programme should be rolled out to all primary schools so as to help other vulnerable children have access to food hence promoting school retention

To address this situation in the country, the children suggested that government should come in and help the schools to grow vegetables in the gardens of the schools so that they can diversify their nutrition. In order to achieve this, government needed to set aside a budget that will be able to provide enough nutritious food for all students. Students also suggested that they can also contribute to ending hunger by starting garden projects at school and at community like the ones being done at two schools in the community by Impact + (youth groups) groups. Enhance Nutritional Education Introduce workshops and campaigns for children and their families on balanced diets, portion sizes, and the long-term impact of nutrition on health. Include practical, hands-on cooking sessions to teach affordable, healthy meal preparation techniques. Sinergy and collaboration Establish partnerships with schools, NGOs, and local authorities to create integrated programs addressing nutrition, health, and well-being. Raise awareness among communities to sensitize parents and caregivers on nutrition. Encourage parents and caregivers to provide balanced diets and encourage health eating habits among children at home.

Les recommandations suivantes ont été retenues pour actions urgentes dans cette aire de santé selon les Enfants participants à ce dialogue : - Que l’Etat Congolais puisse développer le pays en prenant ses responsabilités en mains ; - Donner les emplois aux parents et aux jeunes pour rendre les gens responsables ; - Construire les Hôpitaux pour nous permettre d’avoir les soins de santé de qualité ; - Construire les Ecoles pour nous permettre d’acquérir une bonne instruction de qualité des enfants et devenir des responsables dans l’avenir, - Construire les routes, pour permett... Promoting Local Food Sources: A strong sense of community ownership over local food resources was evident in many responses. One girl advocated for supporting community gardening: “Encouraging home gardening can enhance food security.” Her suggestion points to practical solutions that not only improve nutrition but also encourage self-sufficiency. The discussions illustrated a collective effort to engage with and promote local food systems as pathways to better nutrition. 4. Community Support Programs: Community support systems were highlighted as essential for improving overall nutrition. 5. Livelihoods: There was universal recognition of the need for economic empowerment. One girl argued specifically for women’s economic empowerment, stating, “[Since 2021] many women have lost jobs. Projects targeting women can uplift their spirits and contribute to the economy.” This recognition emphasises the multifaceted impact of job security on family nutrition. 6. Cultural norms: Addressing cultural norms and actively advocating for change was viewed by some children as essential. One child insisted, “We should challenge beliefs that restrict women and girls from eating properly.” Participants expressed a clear understanding that nutritional needs must not be held back by incorrect beliefs about food and nutrition.
